NPS Scotland Sponsorship 2022

With the exciting shows coming up this year, we would like to give your opportunity to sponsor with NPS Scotland.

All class sponsorship goes directly back to the exhibitors and allows us to give prize money for all the classes sponsored.

NPS Training Bursary Awards 2022

In 2022, NPS Scotland have increased their offer to three training bursaries for under 25 year olds.

These bursaries will be awarded in three age groups. The first being 8 – 12 years, the second to members 13 – 17 years old and the third to members 18 – 25 years old. Age as of the 1st January 2022.

Applications are open to either children/young adults who are members or whose parents/guardians (in the 8 – 17 year old award) are NPS Scotland members.

Funding to the value of £150 for each bursary is being offered to further the successful applicants training and education.

TITLE:  Assessing & Trimming/Shoeing the front limb in 3 dimensions

DURATION: 50 minutes

Jim Ferrie has made a huge contribution to the world of Farriery both in the UK and overseas.  He has been the Consultant Farrier since 1974 at the Glasgow Vet College and is part of the Farrier Team at the Edinburgh Vet College.

TITLE:  Show Production Master Class of Mountain and Moorland and Plaited Ponies

DURATION: 30 mins

We are in for a treat tonight when Richard Telford is offering to share some of his top tips, and do’s and don’ts for showing both M & M ponies and plaited horses and ponies.


Tue 1 March at 7.30pm with Erik Mackechnie-Guire FBHS

TITLE: Behind the Scenes of the Tokyo Paralympics 

DURATION: 1 hour approx

 Erik MacKechnie-Guire FBHS has very kindly offered to share with us an insight of his involvement at the Tokyo Paralympics last year.  Erik is a respected NPS judge, who is also the Performance Pathway Manager for Para-equestrian Dressage which took him to Tokyo with the team.   This is a rare opportunity to see what goes on in the preparation and during competition at the highest level, a night not to be missed.

TITLE: Share an Evening with Elinor Steven on her enthusiasm of Driving her Highland Ponies.

DURATION: 30 mins

We are all in for a treat tonight when Elinor will share her knowledge and passion of her driving experiences with her wonderful Highland Ponies.

Results of the 2021 Training Bursary Awards

NPS Scotland were delighted with the number of applications received for the two training bursaries on offer for under 25-year-olds. Traditionally these bursaries are awarded in two age groups, 10 – 17 years and the second to members 18 – 25 years old.  In view of the great response of applicants for 2021 and the fact we gave no bursaries during 2020 the committee of NPS Scotland have decided to offer four bursaries for 2021.

The worthy winners of these bursaries are:

Congratulations to the recipients of the bursaries and we wish them well in their continued training and education and look forward to seeing them competing in 2022.

We will open applications for the 2022 Bursaries in January 2022 and look forward to receiving lots of applications again  for these £150 bursary awards.
